COWBOY MARRIAGE PACT — Episode 1

Sophie Grant, a 36-year-old New York M&A attorney, arrives at Mercer Ranch in Montana to serve a formal acquisition notice. In front of the entire ranch crew, 39-year-old heir Cole Mercer slips an heirloom ring onto her finger, claiming she is his wife. The gesture alone holds no legal weight, but it triggers a family-operation clause that halts the buyout for an operational review. Cole now has 60 days to prove the ranch remains family-run, or the land falls to developers under the existing contract. Initially desperate to leave, Sophie discovers procedural fraud in the acquisition filings she handled. Determined to uncover the truth and unwilling to abet an unlawful takeover, she resigns as developer counsel and legally marries Cole for the 60-day review under strict terms: separate property, no mutual agency, and the unilateral right to divorce.
