I waited outside the emergency room all night, only to learn my mother died. I called my husband, Adam, but heard a woman moaning. He was with someone else. Tears fell as I tried to steady my voice. 'One hundred million,' he growled. 'Elizabeth, have I been too kind these three years, that you think you can blackmail me like a thief? Don't tell me your mother just went into shock. Even if she actually meets God, she isn't worth one hundred million. Understand?' Before he hung up, I heard that woman again: 'Darling, I can't wait any longer...'
