10-year-old Lilly is labeled a liar by a mother who blindly trusts a lie detector bracelet. When Lilly speaks the truth—hungry, hurt, or innocent—the bracelet glows red and shocks her. Her twin Ruby wears a fake green bracelet, framing Lilly for everything. Blinded, the mother punishes Lilly and showers Ruby with love. On New Year's Eve, Lilly's appendix bursts. She begs for help as the bracelet glows red, but her mother locks her in to watch fireworks. Lilly dies in agony, recording her final truth in a diary. Three days later, the mother finds the body and the cruel secret: the bracelet measures fear and pain, not lies, and Ruby's bracelet is a toy. The mother puts on the bloodied bracelet; the red light punishes her lies. Consumed by guilt, she goes insane and attacks Ruby, who is then hit by a truck and crippled. The father loses everything and dies in despair. Finally, the mother dies holding the diary, and Lilly's spirit escapes the nightmare into eternal peace.

I literally could not stop watching! The cliffhanger at the end of this episode had me holding my breath.

The acting and pacing are top notch for a short drama. That confrontation scene was unforgettable!
