Karen is a housewife married to Tom, a wealthy lawyer. While Karen is away, their house catches fire, and their 5-year-old daughter, Anna, falls and is critically injured. A Good Samaritan named Merry hitches a ride on a fire truck driven by Captain Bob to rush Anna to the hospital for emergency surgery. On the way, the fire truck collides with Karen's car as she is returning from an extramarital affair. Karen blocks the road, demanding an apology and compensation for damages, wasting precious time. Merry, paramedic Eve, and kind bystanders try to persuade her to move. However, Karen stubbornly refuses, completely unaware that the fire truck is carrying her own daughter, whose life hangs in the balance.
