Esther lived 5 years in an abusive marriage. Carl betrayed her, used physical violence, eventually causing their daughter's death. On their 5th anniversary, Carl dies accidentally during a violent outburst. Shocked, Esther buries his body in the backyard. The next morning, Carl reappears. The resurrected Carl acts tender and gentle like when they first fell in love. He is no longer the abuser she buried.
