For years, Jade Spencer has loved Gerard Glover, only for him to use her to make his true love, Sydney Black, jealous. To sabotage Sydney's upcoming wedding to Filbert Ford, the heir of the Duke of Josville, Gerard forces Jade to get close to the groom. Disillusioned and heartbroken, Jade and Filbert decide to play the game for real. They end up tying the knot, leaving Gerard with nothing but bitter regret.
