Lieutenant Ryan Cross fights on the front lines, hiding it from his wife Alice to spare her worry. Tragically, Ryan dies in battle saving his comrades. His lingering regrets turn him into a ghost, returning to Alice. At home, Alice believes Ryan is hiding from her and suspects an affair! Angry, she decides to retaliate by marrying another man.
