I waited at the ICU for a day only to learn my mother died. I called my husband, Adam, but heard a woman moaning. He is in another's arms. Tears rolled down, I tried to steady my voice. "One hundred million," he spat. "Elizabeth, did I spoil you too much these three years? Think you can extort me like a thug? Spare me the story about your sick mother.
