Lieutenant Ryan Cross serves on the front lines, hiding his deployment from his wife Alice to spare her worry. Ryan dies saving a comrade, but his spirit lingers out of deep attachment. Alice, thinking Ryan is avoiding her, suspects infidelity. Enraged, she decides to marry another man in revenge. On her wedding day, her bridal procession crosses paths with Ryan's funeral procession.
