The Manhattan Property Queen My Husband Wanted to Go Dutch — Episode 7

After thirty years as a housewife, she was publicly told by her retired police officer husband that they would be splitting all expenses—so she declared she would walk away with nothing. The family assumed she was left with nothing but a dilapidated rental costing eight hundred a month, unaware that she was actually a real estate tycoon dominating the Manhattan market. Her unfilial son offered her a measly five hundred dollars a month to act as their housekeeper; in retaliation, she sold the house he owned, leaving the entire family homeless. Her gambling-addict brother-in-law was swindled out of his life savings by his girlfriend, her mother-in-law was brutally beaten in the street by loan sharks, and her ex-husband suffered a heart attack... yet all she said was: "You were the ones who insisted on splitting the bills!"
