Karol Sowle was born into a rural family. At 18, she married Joseph Lee, a young intellectual, and followed him to the city. However, Joseph's family despised her humble origins and subjected her to constant abuse. Unable to endure it, Karol left and met Theo Lipsey, a disabled veteran. With Theo's support, Karol continued her studies, honed her sewing skills, and eventually founded her own garment factory. Meanwhile, thanks to her loving care, Theo's legs gradually healed.
