After Divorcing Her Husband, She Became the Empress — Episode 9

When Empress Shangguan Zhao falls gravely ill, she searches for her long-lost daughter, Shangguan Yue, to name her heir. Shangguan Yue is married to Lin Mu'an, a poor scholar, serving his parents and supporting his academic rise. After Lin Mu'an gains status, he colludes with the governor's daughter, Chen Aoshuang, to frame Shangguan Yue for infidelity, forcing a divorce. In her hour of need, her true identity is revealed as the eunuch Chen Ze (her secret protector) dies defending her. Shen Ling, sent by the Empress, arrives to expose the truth and punish the villains. At Chen Ze's funeral, Shangguan Yue claims the throne, severs ties with the ungrateful Lin Mu'an, and transforms from a discarded wife into the Empress.
